Food.

Happy customers enjoying a bowl of fufu with ogbono soup at a Nigerian restaurant.

Nigeria is a blessed country when it comes to food. We have varieties, depending on the part of Nigeria you come from. They enjoy eating their kind of food wherever they find themselves, home or abroad. A typical Nigerian mother makes sure her female children knows how to cook and take care of the home by the age of 10 years; in preparation to being able to take care of her matrimonial home when she’s ready for marriage (Nigerian men are also very good cooks). Nigerians never feel fulfilled unless they eat Nigerian food, be it at home or at a Nigerian restaurant.

Nigerian foods consist of rice (Prepared in different ways), beans, plantain (Fried, roasted or boiled), yam (Fried, boiled, roasted or pounded into a paste called “Fufu”), garri (Made from cassava roots), and so many other foods too numerous to mention. There are also special soups like vegetable soup, egusi soup, okro soup, beans soup, ogbono soup and a lot more, prepared to complement  fufu , semolina or garri.

On special occasions like weddings, naming ceremonies, burial ceremonies, birthdays, graduations..etc, popular Nigerian foods served, but not limited to are, Rice, fufu, garri, with assorted soups.

Visit any Nigerian restaurant in your areas and you would not regret your visit.
